With iOS 4.2 update Apple gave away its ‘Find my iPhone’ service which was a paid mobile me service earlier. But with this update ‘Find my iPhone’ service is only available for users of iPhone 4, iPod Touch (4G) and iPad.
Though iOS 4.2 update released for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G, they will not get this service.

Features of ‘Find my iPhone’ Service :
- Locate your iPhone or iPad on a map
- Display a message and optionally play a sound for two minutes at full volume (even if your device is set to silent)
- Remotely set a passcode lock on your device, or lock it using your existing passcode
- Remotely wipe your device to permanently erase all of your personal data

Actually i didn’t knew this feature exists in iOS 4 until i accidentally double taps my Home button.
