Direct Download Links For iOS5 (iPhone, iPod Touch & iPad)

If are getting problems like errors and slow downloading while updating your idevice to iOS 5 using iTunes then you have to look for the alternative.

Simple way to update your idevice to iOS 5 is download the firmware directly for the Apple server without the help of your freaking iTunes and then update your device with the help of the iTunes.

Step 1 : Download the required iOS 5 from the following links

Step 2 : Open iTunes > Hold Shift and Click Update > It will prompt you to look for a .ipsw (iPod/iPhone Software) which we have already downloaded, Select it.

Done!

If you still get that 3002 error, then its not your fault. The problem lies at Apple server as millions of people trying to update their iDevices. So keep trying the Step 2 until you succeed. Enjoy iOS 5 :)

Note : Don’t forget to disable/turnoff your Anti-virus and Firewall.

Apple Announces 2010 Top 10 iPhone, iPad Apps

Apple recently announces the list of Top 10 iPhone/iPod Touch Apps and Top 10 iPad Apps in separately for Free, Paid and Grossing. Overall Facebook got 1st place in top 10 free iPhone apps while Angry Birds got 1st in top 10 paid iPhone apps. Let’s see which apps got places in Top 10.

‘Rovio Mobile’ developers of most successful iPhone game ‘Angry Birds‘ are preparing an update for this Christmas. Unlike a standalone Angry Birds Halloween, Angry Birds Christmas is coming as update for ‘Angry Birds Halloween‘ with Game Center support. We don’t know yet whether its a free or paid update.

How to Enable ‘Find my iPhone’ on iOS 4.2 for iPhone 4,iPod Touch 4G & iPad

With iOS 4.2 update Apple gave away its ‘Find my iPhone’ service which was a paid mobile me service earlier. But with this update ‘Find my iPhone’ service is only available for users of iPhone 4, iPod Touch (4G) and iPad.

Though iOS 4.2 update released for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G, they will not get this service.

Features of ‘Find my iPhone’ Service :

  • Locate your iPhone or iPad on a map
  • Display a message and optionally play a sound for two minutes at full volume (even if your device is set to silent)
  • Remotely set a passcode lock on your device, or lock it using your existing passcode
  • Remotely wipe your device to permanently erase all of your personal data
